State of the Kenyan parliament – frightening

I found this story via the Kenyan Pundit’s blog and thought it was too important to ignore. The parliament tracking website – Mzalendo is raising alarm bells that should make every Kenyan very concerned.

This is the largest budget proposal in Kenya’s history and Kenyan MPs are asleep at the wheel. There is a lack of quorum to debate the budget. Come Thursday and it will pass parliament. The 2008 budget has a lot of red flags and nobody is raising an eyebrow carving a path for it to go unopposed.
