Agriculture minister William Ruto revokes sugar export licenses to stem gouging

Kenya’s agriculture minister William Ruto has revoked the 16 exported trade licenses belonging to what he termed “cartels in the sugar industry”. These cartels are suspected of artificially raising the price of sugar in the country by exporting and re-exporting the sugar for handsome profits.
